“They say that poor workers blame their tools. But at Bahco we know from designing and making ergonomic tools, that even if we spend a great deal of time and effort making tools for very specific purposes, it is just as important to make sure people understand how to use them properly.”
Our Bahco Automotive School Program is officially “An initiative to teach students about general tool knowledge, mechanics and ergonomics”. What this actually means is that we help students find out more about tools, avoid bad habits early and get the most out of what we do.
This new initiative, from SNA Europe, aims to educate mechanics all over Sweden in the use and care of automotive tools, and the mechanics and ergonomics behind them.
Stigh Lund, who is driving this project worked at Bahco for many, many years as Product Manager for tightening tools, so he knows a few things about using (and abusing) tools. Now he is retired and wants to find ways of sharing his passion for Bahco tools and help the next generation.
Stig told us “It is exciting to meet the professional mechanics of the future. I like to explain the history of the tools, how they have evolved and been developed by designers and engineers at Bahco, to do the tasks of today”.
On the tour, Stigh is accompanied by world famous Drag Racing Champion Micke Kågered and his team to give students an insight into the practical side of being a cutting edge mechanic.
